Service Description

Learn to sail with us on an RYA Youth Sailing Scheme Stage 1 course, suitable for ages 8-16 with no previous sailing experience. A fantastic introduction to sailing, you will have great fun learning the basics of sailing, parts of the boat and how to launch, recover and steer from our awesome team of RYA qualified instructors. Participants will get a chance to sail on their own in one of our training single handers learning how to control a boat from instruction and through direct experience. After completing Stage 1, you will understand the basic principles of sailing to move on to Stage 2. No prior knowledge or experience of sailing is needed for this course. This is an active course, and participants might end up in the water, please advise in advance of booking if the participant is a non-swimmer. What’s Included Wet-suit, Buoyancy Aid, Helmet. Youth Sailing Scheme Logbook. (Only for Stage/Level 1 Courses) What you need to bring Swimwear, Towel, Drinks, Sun-cream, weather appropriate clothing. Spare pair of shoes to wear in the water with closed toes. Lunch and Snacks. Water Bottle. Timings Start Time 9:30. Finish time 4:30. This course is open to members and non-members of LSC. If you are a non-member, then please select the non-member rate below to include temporary membership for the duration of the course.

Cancellation Policy

LSC Membership: All participants must be either or current members of Largs Sailing Club (LSC). Fees: All course fees are quoted for the course. All bookings cannot be confirmed or reserved until we have received the appropriate payment. All bookings have to be paid for in full at the time of booking; Cancellation: The LSTA will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that your course takes place. However the LSTA reserves the right to cancel any booking at any time where we believe that cancellation is necessary due to unsuitable conditions. The LSTA reserves the right to cancel a course at not less than seven (7) days notice where the LSTA believes that there are insufficient numbers for the course to take place. Where the LSTA cancels a course in full, you will be offered the following options: A full refund of the course fee paid; or An alternative mutually acceptable course. All cancellations made by the customer must be made to the LSTA and acknowledged by the LSTA. Course fees for cancellations made less than two weeks prior to the commencement of the course will not be refunded. Some courses have a prerequisite for skills and experience if you are unable to meet those requirements it may be grounds for cancellation on safety grounds. If you are unsure about any prerequisites please discuss prior to booking.
